Updates on the Project

Dear friends,

As you are aware, after signing the contract with the company, last June, we have been diligently working to finalize all executive aspects. Since then, additional and unforeseen challenges have emerged, particularly concerning the urbanization works around the Temple and the related road system. We have been actively seeking solutions to address these challenges, and we invite you to join us in our prayers for the swift removal of any remaining obstacles, so that we may commence the actual work as soon as possible. We remain in continuous contact with our Abbot, Geshe Thubten Chonyi, to keep him updated and to receive his invaluable advice. Upon learning of these recent delays, he informed us that he will soon perform ritual pujas to help remove these obstacles, for which we are deeply grateful.

In September 1980, Lama Yeshe shared his thoughts on the effort to bring Buddhism to the West:

When we undertake something beneficial, such as bringing Dharma to the West—not only for ourselves, but for all sentient beings—we draw upon ourselves all the negativity in the universe. This is because our efforts not only challenge our own negative karma but also that of all beings who will benefit in the future”

In recent months, we have made further progress on the Park of Contemplation and Peace, which, in collaboration with the municipality, will be significantly expanded beyond the initial concept.
This project is very close to our hearts, and we are currently completing the final surveys and detailed agreements. We hope to be able to present it as early as the beginning of the Temple construction.

We are pleased to announce another important step forward in our project: the establishment of the Sangha Lhungtok Choekorling Monastic Association. This Association will work alongside the Sangha ETS Foundation, supporting the construction of the Monastery and overseeing the daily organizational needs of the monastic community.

With warm regards, on behalf of all the monks and nuns of the Foundation and the Sangha Lhungtok Choekorling Monastic Association.

P.S. We will update you soon on upcoming activities.

Sincerely,
Massimo Stordi President
