Our delegation, Sangha Lhungtok Choekhorling Monastic Association, is participating in the FPMT Summit CPMT 2025 at Kopan Monastery, which began on April 6 with 185 participants from 70 FPMT Centers, projects and services represented by 25 different countries.
This important gathering on the theme “Actualizing our Guru’s vision of a world guided by compassion and wisdom” will conclude with a commemoration of Lama Zopa Rinpoche, showing the aspect of his passing away on April 13.
Kopan Abbot and FPMT Inc. Board Member Khen Rinpoche Geshe Chonyi welcomed everyone, and Ven. Pemba Sherpa, FPMT Inc. Board Member, shared a letter of support and encouragement for the meeting from His Holiness the Dalai Lama: “I would first like to mention the contributions that your founding teachers, Lama Yeshe and Lama Thubten Zopa, have made to the Dharma. Through this organization, they have enabled many people to appreciate the potential of Buddha Dharma to contribute to the well-being of sentient beings,” and “from my understanding, the FPMT has a strong structure, with outstanding teachers and disciples in leadership positions, which you can strengthen based on discussions and agreements. As I have told them, I will continue to offer encouragement and support to the FPMT in your service to others.”
With great joy, the wonderful news was shared at the Summit that His Holiness the Dalai Lama confirmed that the reincarnation of our most precious spiritual director, Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche, has been reborn. According to His Holiness' observation, reincarnation has resumed rebirth in Nepal.
At each Center, relics of Lama Zopa Rinpoche were offered (see photo).
