A heartfelt thank you to all of you who have chosen to dedicate the 5×1000 to the Sangha ETS Foundation. We are happy to confirm that, thanks to this choice, we have made a Donation of $8.944,61 to the Maitreya Children's Home in Nepal.
An important gesture, made possible by your signature
This amount was entirely allocated to support thehostel for boys and girls living in the most remote areas of the Himalayan region of Solu Khumbu, offering a safe place to live, study and grow, respecting their culture and Buddhist tradition.
The Maitreya Children's Home is part of the Thubten Shedrup Ling monastery, founded in the 70s to house Tibetan refugees. Today, the hostel hosts dozens of young Sherpa students from isolated villages, often days' walk from the nearest school.
What we supported together:
- Food and lodging for hosted children
- Purchase of essential materials such as mattresses, sheets and blankets
- Contributions to the hostel food fund
- Donations for general management expenses
- Future development of solar water heating systems
We are very happy to inform you that we have received a official thank you letter for the donation, sent to us directly by Kopan Monastery, which testifies how concrete and precious this form of support is.
