A place of prayer to contribute to peace all together

We are happy to be able to communicate to you a new update relating to the Monastery project, which is so dear to all of us.

In the last communication we informed you that, on the occasion of His Holiness the Dalai Lama's birthday on 6 July, we presented the permit to build the main building of the Gompa to the Technical Office of the Municipality of Santa Luce.

In the meantime, administrative elections have been held in our municipality, which always bring a moment of passage and standby for bureaucratic matters.

But today we can update you with new news.

In November 2021, after a further bureaucratic process, both the council and the Regional Council of Tuscany finally approved the partial removal of the landscape constraint which still affected the south-east slope of the Monastery hill. The one that, in particular, will house the nuns' lodgings and part of the main building.
The removal of the constraint was essential to allow the administration to approve the building permit that we hope will arrive shortly. We are convinced that creating a place like this can help to root inner peace which is the only true way to overcome external conflicts and build a world of peace.

As a monastic Sangha, we also try to never miss moments of daily prayer for people who are suffering from conflicts in the world.

In these weeks we are defining together with our technicians and those of the municipality both the accesses that will facilitate the road system, and the usable areas for public use of the Contemplation Park (with nature trails and respecting the native flora and fauna).

Guided tour and didactic laboratory of naturalistic engineering

In March of this year the Sangha Onlus Association in collaboration with AIPIN (Italian Association for Naturalistic Engineering) organized a guided tour and Didactic Laboratory of Naturalistic Engineering on the hill of the Monastery

The objective of the two days was to make the Monastery Project known through the naturalistic engineering techniques used for the environmental recovery of the quarry, within the scope of the works of the Contemplation Park.
The participants, coming from all over Italy, contributed to the repopulation of native plants such as, for example, the Helichrysum, the Alisso and the Carnation of the cliffs and planted some olive trees as a symbol of Peace.

We plan to propose other naturalistic and environmental education workshops because, as His Holiness the Dalai Lama urges us in the last message on the occasion of Earth Day 2022, "we need a more holistic education, which incorporates inner values, as a compassionate concern for the welfare of others. "

We give hope to the future. Support us in our activities

Each of you can help us in the realization of this "mandala" which will see the construction of a totally eco-sustainable Buddhist monastery, the park of contemplation, a sanctuary for animals and other projects that we will soon tell you about, integrating simple ways of living with loving kindness, compassion and wisdom in an effort to contribute to a world of peace.
