On the evening of Wednesday 27 September 2023, we monks and nuns of the association had a very special meeting with our abbot Geshe Thubten Chonyi, in which we were able to get to know each other personally and introduce ourselves.
Khen Rinpoche wanted to tell us the moment in which Lama Zopa Rinpoche, during the FPMT Board meeting last January 2023, asked him to become the Abbot of Lhungtok Choekhorling and how, in the following months there was no longer the opportunity to talk about it, since, a couple of months later, Lama Zopa left his body. In the meantime, the news of his appointment had spread around the world and our being together now is the fruit of this precious legacy.
In his speech Khen Rinpoche reiterated the importance of harmony among the Sangha without which nothing can develop. Finally he then answered our questions about monastic life in the West.
