The Abbot of our Monastery has arrived in Pomaia!

With great joy, we inform you that Khen Rinpoche Geshe Thubten Chonyi, appointed Abbot of the Lhungtok Choekhorling Monastery by Lama Zopa Rinpoche, has arrived in Pomaia for a series of meetings.
On Tuesday, 26 September, on a splendid sunny day among the green Tuscan hills, we set out from the Lama Tsongkhapa Institute to reach the Monastery hill with some monks from Kopan.

Khen Rinpoche viewed the Monastery Area in preparation for the Ground Blessing Ceremony, held on Wednesday, 27 September, at 9:30 a.m.
The exact place on the hill to officiate the ceremony was chosen, right in the center of the area where the main Temple will be built. We also showed our Abbot the areas selected for constructing the nuns' and monks' accommodation.

blessing ceremony of the land of the Lhungtok Choekhorling Monastery

On Wednesday 27 September 2023, for the first time in the history of Tibetan Buddhism in Italy, we monks and nuns of the Sangha Association, together with our Abbot Geshe Thubten Chonyi and the monks of Kopan, officiated the ceremony of consecration for the monastery land called "Take possession of the land".

The very complex and detailed ritual was performed mainly where the Monastery Temple will be built from scratch to keep the elements and all living beings in the area in harmony.

Present were the project's architects, Gino Zavanella and Chiara Ciampa, and other friends of the Monastery.
